Ok so as you can tell I’m back in school after a 2 year hiatus to pursue a dream of performing stand up comedy. And oh how wonderful and glamorous that road is the late nights in the comedy club drinking and talking to depressed grown ass men about money, life, women and of course our new material. The flirting with the audience members after the show and the pure rush of the daily grind to find a stage and an audience willing to listen. On top of all that living basically like a college student. You know starving and living paycheck to paycheck trying to find a way to make a rotisserie chicken last a whole week (you know it’s amazing how it goes from chicken to chicken sandwich, to chicken salad, to chicken soup, to bone sucking…..) that’s if you’re creative. This rock star life I was living lead me to loose over 120lbs and learning that relationships require a lot of umm… Balance (but that’s another story) Now that I’m in school again adjusting to what was the norm for me a mere two years ago seems to be the most difficult task ever. Lets Rewind back two months 9the good ol’ days) You see I’m use to waking up at 12pm Maybe 2pm and just getting my day started work a 5.5hr shift and then hit the comedy club or go out and party, Flirt, or Mingle. Then make it home by two or three in the morning to do it again the next day. My body has grown accustom to this sort of living. Fast forward to today. In the words of my best friend Erin West, Oh Em Gee. I woke up at 7am to get ready to go to class. Caught the bus by 9 reviewed a bit on the ride arrived to school by 9:30 reviewed a bit more still tired I enter class at 10am finish by 10:50 go to the library try to finish homework before 1:45 cause I have to catch the bus again by 2pm to make it to work at 3pm and work till 9:30 by the time I get home all I want to do is Sleep!!! (Mind you this is the least jam packed of the days because I only have one class in this day) My body has literally told me he doesn’t know me anymore. This new me is crazy. He doesn’t like this life I lead albeit I’m not going from snorting coke off a hooker’s tit at an Orgy, to going to church and finding god but it’s a hard transition none the less. (Was that too graphic?) But I’m trying to get this thing called time management (I heard you can buy it Walgreens for cheap) infused into my life. Until then Pray for me or wish me luck if you’re not religious and ill see you at the top where we can live like rock stars once again!!
